Jill Powell began acting and formal training at the young age of 13. Graduating from the Alabama School of Fine Arts and moving to NYC permanently she established herself working in regional theater and shortly after made her Broadway debut as Zaneeta Shinn in the 2nd revival of The Music Man. Jill toured the USA with the national companies of Stop the World, I Want to Get Off, starring the late Anthony Newley, the world premier of Jekyll and Hyde and A Chorus Line playing Val (T&A).

Later Jill joined the Broadway cast of Tommy Tune’s Grand Hotel where she played the female ingénue Flaemmchen. Bringing Jill much critical acclaim and solidifying her as a young new leading lady of Broadway, while in Grand Hotel, CBS took notice and offered her a contract to play the role of Marcy Breen on As the World Turns. Jill made commercials for Tide, Mercedes Benz, Aqua Fresh, Massengil, Wendy’s, Olive Garden, Claritin, Head and Shoulders, Verzon DSL and Smart Balance Milk to name a few.

Knowing that theater offers wonderful avenues for physical and emotional self-awareness Jill wanted to use her expertise as a way to reach children. She began studying with Dr. Cecelia Dintino, a cutting edge Psychologist and Drama Therapist to [...]

...enhance her passion and innate perceptions. Armed with this knowledge Jill created the enrichment programs such as Gettin’ Proud™, Dancesteem™ and now Move IT™ a sleep away summer camp for teen and tween girls.

Over the past five years Jill has used proven Psychological practices to successfully empower more then 10,000 elementary, middle and high school aged children nationwide. Jill creates an exciting, inspiring and very safe environment that harvests self-esteem and personal growth. Student learn to love who they are as individuals not compared to others.

Go For It and Believe in Yourself as I Believe in You are her mottos. Through focused projects in Literary, Visual and Performing Arts students learn to open themselves up to a new friend and grow from peer conflict/resolution. The children learn teamwork and support; each child is recognized as an individual and through the process they are empowered to drop their inhibitions and “GO FOR IT!”

When Jill leaves an experience with kids, they own a little bit more of “IT” that charisma and personal power that will get them noticed and stepping forward into their lives with confidence!
